Nativ Landscapes

Nativ Landscapes is a landscaping company located in Richardson Texas, serving Dallas-Fort Worth area and happily providing services in other areas upon request. Gary York and Bob Vinson have led Nativ Landscapes for over 30 years, winning over 50 home owners associations awards for their landscaping designs and creativity. 

Born in El Paso Texas, Bob Vinson was raised in the country side on the edge of a growing city. His passion for gardening and landscaping came from his parents who were avid gardeners and ejoyed sharing landscaping ideas with the whole neighbourhood.  

 

In college he majored in interior and exterior design for homes and businesses. After successful career in interior design with Ethen Allen for over 15 years, Bob transitioned to his other passion - landscape architecture. Since becoming a full-time landscaper, he has been a member of Texas Association of Landscape Architects TALA since 1985 and served as a Board Member of Home Owners Association in Richardson TX. 

 

For Over 10 years Bob Vinson has been a contributing landscape writer for the Richardson Living Magazine, where he shares his experience, philosophy, and ideas with the community. 

Gary York was born and raised in a family that was well respected and owned  a paper business in Dallas Texas. Upon his graduation from high school, he enrolled in college. Gary realized his interest in public service and decided to join the U.S. Army.

 

After serving his country for 4 years, Gary started to work as an accountant for International Harvester in Dallas Texas. Soon after, he became interested in gardening and landscaping. While working as an accountant during the week, he started maintenance of several landscapes on the weekends. Gary's talent for the garden maintenance was quickly recognized. It became evident that what had been a weekend gardening hobby, was going to become a satisfying career.

 

In 1984, Gary York with Bob Vinson decided to create Nativ Landscapes, the company that has proudly served its customers for over 30 years, and has won over 50 Home Owners Associations Awards
